Titans sign ex-Pro Bowl DT Corey Simon
Another team is ready to give defensive tackle Corey Simon a shot, even after two turbulent seasons with the Indianapolis Colts . The Tennessee Titans signed the 30-year-old lineman today to an undisclosed deal.
Commentary: A year after missing the entire '06 season with a knee injury and undisclosed illness, Simon will attempt to resurrect a formerly Pro Bowl-caliber career. The former first-round pick recorded 212 tackles, 32 sacks and eight forced fumbles in his first five seasons with Philadelphia.
Fantasy Football Impact: At his best, the 6-foot-2, 300-pounder can serve as a formidable plug up front for the Titans. Still, character issues and a rather selfish history make the veteran an uncertainty until he hits the field and proves his value. Don't expect this signing to make the Tennessee 'D' immediately better, but it could happen over time.
